Use Swede
in soups, stews, casseroles, baked, pasties, roasted, boiled, steamed, mashed, added to stir fry and is delicious finely sliced in salads.

Swedes, also known as Swedish turnips or rutabaga, have a sweet, delicate flavour, a great fine texture and are a versatile vegetable. Swedes have been grown since the 17th century in Sweden, developed as a turnip and cabbage hybrid.

Storage
Refrigerate in plastic bags.

Preparation
Fresh and young swedes usually don’t need peeling. With older swedes the skin is usually removed.

Nutrition
Swedes are a good source of fibre and a reasonable source of calcium and Vitamins A and C. Containing many phytonutrients particularly phytosterols and glucosinolates, which are understood to have cancer fighting and immune support properties.
